Our Coffee Experience

The Coffee we serve is a blend of 100% Arabica beans from Honduras, Costa Rica and India.

All our coffees are prepared in different ways and include filter coffee, cappuccino, espresso, café latté, flavoured latté, café mocha, café Americano, cafetieres, Frappés (iced coffee) and Babychino for the children.

A World of Loose Tea

Explore, discover and enjoy 39 different loose teas - our own 'alpine' tea, colonial teas, white, atisan, green, yellow, scented, and red oriental teas, alternative teas, herbal teas and chai latte.

For the special occasion we stock 2 extra special gourmet teas:

Ti Guan Yin (Iron Godess of Mercy)

This is the most famous of all Chinese Mainland Oolongs and one of the great Chinese teas. This spring flush (autumn flush lacks subtlety) and from Anxi district. The name refers to a legend in which a poor farmer tender an iron statue of the Godess in an abandoned temple for many years and was rewarded by her appearing to him in a dream and revealing to him where this special tea bush was to be found.

Fujian Silver Needles (Fu Ding Da Bai)

Fujian province is the home of White tea-tea in it's most natural state.

This is a traditional tea set bud (Pai mu Tan - is a new set) white from Fu Ding district. In Imperial times this was a Tribute tes, cut on one day of the year by virgins, wearing silk gloves and using scissors made out of gold and it was carried by Imperial messengers straght to the Imperial palace in Beijing.

The Alpine Coffee Shop is pleased to be able to sponsor the education of 10 children at the Don Bosco School, Mirik, Darjeeling. £42.50 pays a child's school fees for a year and provides a mid-day meal.
